In almost every country in the world, there are fairy stories..and fairies which belong to particular countries. Fairies, it's believed are a race somewhere between humans and spirits. It is said they live as our neighors, but because for the most part humankind do not keep their end of Earth's guardianship, fairies ignore us..miffed that we have let them down......
Fairies tend to look at humans as boastful breakers of promises. But you can make friends with them. Simply leaving them gifts of little bits of your first harvest will endear you to them. Never leave meat, though..they hate that and will be furious.

* Fairies have been known by different names in different cultures. The French call them faer-ee. The ancient Greeks and Romans called them fates, faes or fays. In Arabic countries they are the djinn (genies). In Scotland they fell into two groups - the Seelie Court and the Unseelie Court. The members being called the sith. (pronounced shee) and in Ireland the name was similar the sidhe (also pronounced shee). And the Europeans, not wanting to offend them referred to them as the Gentry, the Gentle Folk, the Good Folk, the Fair Folk or the Ancient Ones.
* Some fairies are mischeivious or even dangerous. Others can be very helpful and supportive of people.
